Yes this is the same Mbuti. Born 2004 at Bristol Zoo. He went to London in June 09 since he and Stuma were imcompatible and Dicky came back to Chester in exchange.

So glad chester built there stalls off-show, give the animals the much need privacy in an animal that can be highly strung!

London also have an off show area that the Okapi have access to most of the time.

Ah thanks . Just I was watching a Zoo program today on Sky which was at Bristol Zoo and the Okapi was named Mbuti and name rang a bell. In the program they said he was six months old so it must have been filmed in 2004/5.

What I mean is Chester put all the stalls off-show and gave them a good indoor area for wet weather days or bad weather days.

the okapi at london zoo all have off show areas at any time they choose to use them, the male in this pic has a enclosure to the right and the female on the right side (with young 11months old) has a area behind the viewing enclosure, both are open for them at all times.
