That hole for viewing the otters looks dangerous. Anyone could walk around the corner while their talking and walk straight in.

And is the exhibit further along on the right hand side part of the otter exhibit as well? It's quite big if it is.
 
I agree that the steps are very dangerous without any sort of barrier!

The enclosure does continue to the right of my photo. I thought it was a decent sized enclosure for otters (which is handy, as I think I counted nine of them in their indoor area!!)
 
if I remember rightly, the slabs are grooved which is indication of a road or step for a blind person. There are bright lines painted on the edges of the steps for partially-sighted people to see where they end. If yr just not looking where you're going, well....
