Did they have access to grass or was it all concrete floors?
How often were they fed?

The old Lion House was built in 1876; its inhabitants did not have access to grass, although the outside cages were quite large.

As I remember the Lion House, public feeding took place at 3:00pm in summertime; 2:00pm in wintertime; six days a week. Wednesday was a fast day.
