Thanks. I would think so as a pool is a pretty major undertaking to change if there is no need. Has the old elephant moat been filled in/hidden?- it looks like it both from this and from your other photo, so that you apparently now view much closer into the enclosure?

This looks really nice. When the trees and plants grow in it will block out that horrible looking building. Also I really love the look of the fencing used on the exhibit.

Yes the old moat has been filled in or just used to give a landscaped feel to the exhibit.

Hopefully this is just the start of the eventual and overdue overhaul of the Casson pavillion.
Do the tapirs have the run of the entire former elephant paddock, or is it a partial use?
Looks good btw

ZSL have become quite good at overhauling/landscaping existing enclosures along these lines. Similar was done a few years back for the Okapi in the Cotton Terrace enclosures, where a water moat was filled in, giving more space, and glass viewing windows put in, and also for Hunting Dogs and Pigs which were given the ex antelope paddocks on the lower level.

So when malayan tapirs moved here lives something in their old exhibit or it remained empty?
