Adi will probably go to another collection when old enough a year or so approx?) and then gertie will move over and redevelopment will take place so the hippos can move in
Oh wow! I'm new to this forum and not clued up yet about all the collections across the UK but I've only seen Malayan tapirs in Chester zoo
I absolutely adore them! and now the only other ones I've heard of includes a baby
Me and my girlfriend are regular zoo visitors and have been up and down the country visiting different ones and London has always been on the visit list, but I've got to say, it's just moved up in priority!

Haha! Well observed After mentioning the forum a lot and reading out various posts, i finally convinced him to join up for himself. Also, any help to convince him a visit to London Zoo is a good idea would be appreciated
Other than the pair at Chester, the nearest Malayan Tapirs to you will be the pair at Edinburgh Zoo.
If you both like hoofstock, I'd suggest you seriously consider a trip to the other ZSL collection, Whipsnade, which specialises in the larger species including Reticulated Giraffe, Indian Gaur, Onager and Nilgai.
As for ZSL Regents Park, do species like Moholi Bushbaby, Slender Loris, Amazilia Hummingbird, Black Mamba, Big Hairy Armadillo, Southern Tamandua and Okapi appeal to you?
We looked into Edinburgh and couldn't decide if it was worth the trip or not so it will probably be one we look into for the summer.
Whipsnade is high on the list to visit, it is just a pretty long trip from Carlisle so would probably have to go overnight and visit both zoo's within a couple of days. As both of ZSL's collection's have species we'd like to see.

Yeah the way we'd have to do it is travel down and stay for a few days and do both because of the distance, but from those lists there I'd vote for the regents park, as other than the Southern Tamandua (which at the minute I haven't got a clue what it is, but soon will) I'd love to see all of them! although the giraffes are a must as well, so if we couldn't stay over we'd no doubt have to make 2 trips instead haha
Thank you for that, i would definitely check out what else was around us at the time and try to get as many in as possible.
Woburn sounds like it is well worth a visit, how does it compare to WMSP?
