Does anyone know anymore about this particular animal ??
I remember seeing it( it was a male) and it appeared in the Press a bit too at the time. I think for some reason its mother chewed its ear off. It was one of the last( the very last?) calves born at London Zoo. It stayed at London some while but I can't remember its subsequent history.

His name is on the tip of my tongue but I can't quite remember. 'Jonnie' maybe?

Yes you may be right there, that rings a distant bell somewhere in my dusty head, thanks Pertinax.;)

Didn't this animal end up at Colchester? I seem to remember they had a one-eared giraffe when Kingdom of the Wild first opened.

This would be Killian, one of Colchester's first two giraffes in the early 2000s. He died a few years ago. I, as a toddler, saw him around the time this photo was taken (not that I remember explicitly, but my parents believe we visited several days after his birth, if not on the day). Thanks for uploading :)
