was that bull actually taller than the doors of the house, or is just the perspective in the photo? He does look a lot taller than the others.
 
As I also asked this but referring to a different photograph from about that time, I think it is quite possible that he was. That would be a very tall animal!
 
I'm very much enjoying the historical tour of London Zoo that you are giving us, Andrew.
 
I think it is down to perspective. The feeding pole is quite some way from the doors and he is this side of that.

I like PA's little red ensemble too- very fetching...
 
Very good slideshow- heading for another Gold Star methinks- but lack of Monkey house images means sadly I cannot award it.
 
It' a really interesting photo for perspective. If you look closely at the large giraffe behind the feeding pole, it is actually two animals ( use the size of the patches to identify the back of the smaller one).

the two heads and extra legs also give that away....
