photo opportunity by the blue duck aviary

one of those things where you put your head through the hole and get your photo taken.

This is a giant replica of a NZ$10 note which features the blue duck (Hymenolaimus malacorhynchus).

As an aside the aviary was closed for renovation so I didn't enter, but the signs were for both yellow- and red-crowned kakariki (I can't remember if there was some confusion over which species were -- or were meant to be -- in there so thought I'd mention it).
