Does anyone know how many exhibits are in the 50 year-old Clore Pavilion? Including both the upper section and the nocturnal enclosures, there was at one time 110 exhibits. A staggering total!

I don't know the number exactly, but I'd guess that there may only be around 30 now - it is certainly much reduced: many exhibits were removed to make the open atrium for the rainforest on the right of this photo, both on the ground floor and in the Moonlight World in the basement, including most of the smallest ones housing mice etc.
Thus there is much more space, but it's only one exhibit.
In addition many of the smaller exhibits were combined to give more space to the marmoset families etc. Since the original building was opened, several new outdoor enclosures have been added, linking to some of the indoor exhibits. At various times, some of the areas have been taken off and put back on show, so it's hard to give a definitive answer.

Thanks for the response and I'm surprised that a fellow zoo enthusiast has not counted the number of exhibits and also provided an extensive list of the inhabitants. Perhaps a homework assignment for a ZooChatter who wishes to delve into such "zoo-nerdery"???

In one of my nerdier moments a few months back I did try and draw a map of the Clore, both upstairs and Moonlight World. Can't remember where it ended up though...
