Yes, I am a bit of a zoo historian as well as being into all things zoo and wild animal related in general. These buildings are particularly interesting since they date back to a previous era of zoo enclosure design. While I am the first to agree that they were not very good for the animals, they do have a certain something that I like (perhaps it is just that they remind me of my childhood zoo visits!). I suppose they only really still exist because of their listed status (which is a real millstone for London esp.) but I do hope that money can be found to incorporate them into something modern.
