I don't know exactly, I'd just visited the elephant house, where there were three on show in the sand paddock (one cow, I presume the one who doesn't get on with the others, plus two well grown calves). I didn't see the bull. I watched the gaurs and then I was on my way back to the Indian rhinos when I saw these elephants passing the sloth bears. So I got ready for their arrival.
I guess they had been somewhere on the escarpment.
