Asian elephants returning to their enclosure (1)

3 cows and 3 young. They are walking back from a visit to an unused area of the zoo, where they can feed and amuse themselves. The blue and silver car, with the registration number obscured, is mine.
Road between Indian rhinos and onagers, Whipsnade, February 2009.
I hope you had someone else driving in this pic, otherwise that would be an even larger hold up. :)

No, my car was parked properly in the parking zone by the old Indian rhino house. There was quite a queue of traffic behind the elephants as there was no room to pass them.

Those two don't walk. I got told it's because the older one was the female who killed the keeper in London so they can't take a chance with her, and they haven't handled Karishma that much so they don't know if she can be trusted.

They certainly handled Karishma in Full Contact back in September when I was fortunate enough to observe her having an ultrasound, but they didn't walk her or another cow (Mya??) during the public walk due to safety issues. They walked the entire herd (including Karishma, Mya(?) and Euan) at about 9 before the park opened and took ropes along as a safety precaution.
