Bear and Boar exhibits at Whipsnade 08/05/10

The close proximity of the two exhibits mean the activities of the boar provide some visual enrichment for the bears.

Can't see why they didn't butt the Boar paddock up to the bear fence- would have saved some fencing. The boar would keep away from the bears obviously.

That tall fence with the overhang at the back of the Bear enclosure must be just about the last of its type left at Whipsnade, now all the other Carnivore pits have gone.

Judging from the width, I wonder if it's to preserve vehicle access to the bear fencing (and housing, which is behind the boar paddock) if needed.
