There's a very long and narrow sunken pathway that leads under the visitor pathway. I think they are moved from 'winter' housing in the main house to the 'summer' paddock as little as possible - once they're out they stay out! (there's a small shelter, pig-farm style, in the pen)

Yes; he was born in Chester on 1st November 1965, was sent to Chessington in 1968 and transferred to Whipsnade in 1992.
