Bongo June 08

Bongo at Whipsnade have a largely open paddock/enclosure but there's a thin belt of woodland along the back which they frequently retire into.

i have some devestating news. i went to port lymmpe 2 day and spoke to a keeper and he said that many zoos told people that yes bongos are endangered but also that you never see them because they are soo shy. not true. there ws a sensouse and there is only 103!!!!!!!! and there is to be no more breeding cause aparently all the captive bongos are related.

Are you sure he didn't just mean Port Lympne's Bongos are all related? I've neither seen nor heard anything to suggest that breeding is on hold.
