Only just realised this isn't the current brown bears, but the Kodiaks in their concrete pit. A good shot and difficult to get considering most views you were looking directly down on them.
Do you know when they were last to be seen at Whipsnade or what happened to them?
Thanks for your comment and as you say these are not the current brown bears. This like most of my recent posts comes from the 1980's and are scanned images of slides or negatives, taken by me. At the time the kodiak bears lions tigers and polar bears were in enclosures on the edge of the downs, all since removed.
Unfortunately I do not know what happened to the animals or when they last were on show.
