European moose

European moose (Alces alces alces) stag - Wild Whipsnade - ZSL Whipsnade - 28/01/2012
Have they(or this one) been moved to a different paddock? When they arrived the enclosure fence was new Deer netting, here the background is the old-style Whipsnade fencing - is this the old Musk Oxen(or the Wisent) paddock? Probably to prevent parasite build-up or overuse of first enclosure.

Looks like the old Musk Ox paddock. They've always used the housing for this paddock, so it makes sense for them to use both areas.

This one was separate from the mother and calf in the paddock nextdoor to the European bison paddock [I believe it did formerly house musk oxen]. I don't know but could it be seperate for the sake of the youngster?

A male Moose is a bull, not a stag [sorry to be picky]. I understand they are very susceptible to parasites, so rotating the grazing would make good sense. Good photo, lovely animal.
When are we going to see these free-ranging in the UK?

Not a problem, of course it is a bull, I completely didn't think of that while uploading :D

Always annoying to make such an error, but thanks for pointing it out so I can edit it :)
