This one looks heavily pregnant, as I remarked on a previous photo of (presumably) the same one.

How many did you see- or know are there now? ( I could only find two last year)

Indeed; hopefully I’ll see a foal on my next visit.

On all my many visits this year, I have only seen two onagers in the main paddock. There is (or at least there was) a male kept off-exhibit too.

Nice shot!

I believe this is the photo mentioned by Pertinax:

Difficult to say if it's the same individual, as the photos were taken from opposite sides, but I would guess so.

There is (or at least there was) a male kept-off exhibit too.

I've also just uploaded a recent photo of the male, currently held in a paddock adjacent to the second group of blesbok (ie. behind the nilgai housing, just on the right as you enter the Passage through Asia drive-through section).

Although semi-offshow as you mention, you can get a reasonable view of him - albeit behind fencing - if you walk up to the blesbok enclosure, just before the cattle grid into Passage through Asia.

Yes, I have seen the onager stallion a number of times in the (almost) off-exhibit enclosure, behind the nilgai, that you mention.

However, despite looking for him yesterday, I didn’t see him which is why qualified my statement about the off-exhibit male by adding the comment “or at least there was”.

Thanks for confirming that he is still there.
