The one thing that has always struck me about Whipsnade's Elephant calves is how much they resemble little Wooly Mammoths. I know the two species are related, and I'm not surprised, the resemblance is canny. If I didn't know better to my uneducated eye I would think it was Dinka come back to life.
The older ones always seem to have more hair in the winter, of course it could just be my imagination.
