Location: rear section of Dagnall Paddock.

Terrific shot! You only normally get a chance for one like this when they are nervous/alarmed, as here in new surroundings, when they do the leaping behaviour.

Perhaps they lost the sixth female?

I guess they will have to dart the single male in the Asian Plains, in order to catch and transfer him.

Thanks! It was amazing to watch them, although it was definitely heart-in-mouth time as they approached the fences at speed (and height) In this case the keepers were returning the nilgai back into their 'own' half of the paddock, their (the keepers) prescence causing the blackbuck to charge around.

I see what looks like tape strung across behind them, probably to keep them away from the fences while they are new to the enclosure.

Maybe you can get a photo when the male joins them- having not seen females for a long while he will probably strut about displaying at them a lot- it is very interesting to watch.

Very encouraging to see Whipsnade actually re-investing in species like this and the Nilgai, that they have, or almost, lost.
