Never heard the use of rose-breasted cockatoo, could make them sound very similar to the Major Mitchell's Cockatoo
 
For years I'd only seen these called 'Roseate Cockatoos', though they increasingly tend to be called Galahs in the UK as well now.
 
Galah is pretty-well the only name used for them throughout Australia. When I was in the USA they only ever known as Rose-breasted Cockatoos. I had heard the name Roseate Cockatoo from UK publications (can't remember seeing them in any zoos when I was in the UK), but I suppose all the ex-pat Aussies in the UK may be the reason 'Galah' is catching on.
