Monitor-Lizard at Twin Vally Zoos weird petting-show with wild animals

That's a Bosc monitor

I used to be very familiar with the old Riber Castle Wildlife Park. For years they had a big Varanus exanthematicus labelled as 'Savannah Monitor'. When he died they got two new (much smaller) V. exanthematicus, took down the 'Savannah Monitor' sign and replaced it with one saying 'Bosc Monitor'.

I am almost certain they genuinely thought they were different.

Awesome looking lizards though, I've heard they make decent pets too. Possibly get one instead of a dog when I move out
