Spider Monkey/DeBrazza Guenon Exhibit

Aug. 16th, 2012.
The large building in the background is technically the South American complex of the zoo, although there have occasionally been some geographical errors in that regard! It was already just about the oldest, most outdated structure in the entire zoo and the recent flooding has left it in such a bad state that it will not even be repaired. One would estimate that the zoo will bulldoze it within a year and rebuild (and the Master Plan called for an overhaul of this zone anyway) but there are a couple of outdoor exhibits like the one in the photo that will be a shame to see disappear. Perhaps the zoo can salvage some things from the water-ravaged area.

where these 2 species actually on display together or rotated? How do they interact with each other?

Everything in this photo is now bulldozed into oblivion (a process that began after the zoo was badly flooded) and now there is nothing but a perfectly flat, manicured lawn with a number of picnic tables spread around it. The cement steps and walkway where the photographer was standing are still there but all of the exhibits, as well as the South American House, are extinct.
