Rather detailed signage, which is good to see. Did you use your smartphone to see where the maze underneath sent you? Were other visitors utilising this?

Would it really hurt them just to put it on? It can be in tiny letters. Tiny ones. In low contrast. It just needs to be there.

exactly right. Weird isn't it?

All the signs were like this. Common name, Maori name, loads of information that most people won't even read: but can they put the scientific name on there? Not a chance!

I never noticed the lack of species name. I blame the use of the species name in the photo title
