It looks like a good majority of that 1.2 acres is taken up by the pool...Love it.
And just some quick questions. Are there only two hippos, are they a pair and have they got any chances of breeding?
The two hippos are indeed male and female, and they are each under 5 years of age and so are still quite young as far as hippos go. I believe that the pool is at least 0.6 acres in size, and so literally half the enclosure. They only downside is that Canadian winters can be nasty and full of rain and snow, and so there are not always African temperatures at the zoo.
