Hyenas in the snow

Of all the pictures I have taken of these veterans of the zoo, these pictures are among my favorite.
In all zoos I know the females supress the males, does it work out in toronto? Do they breed?

great picture, it wierd to see those animals in the snow...but they look cute:)

Great picture! Most animals at the TZ like the snow especially the younger gorillas cause I remember seeing one throwing a snowball at Charles.

All three of the hyenas have been neutered, and all are believed to be siblings (they were wild-caught in Kenya, and were part of the University of California (Berkeley)'s research colony until 1991).

This images shows Tigger (m) on the left, and I believe Rabbit (f) on the right (they were named after Winnie the Pooh characters). There is a heated pad in the cave in the background to help keep them comfortable.
