Species?

This is another new species in the coldwater marine tanks in the Americas Pavilion. The zoo still hasn't labelled some of the species, so if anyone knows what this is, please tell me.

I have no clue what it is but boy is it ever funky looking. To bad it wasnt facing the other way it would have looked like a question mark and how fitting would that have been since you dont know what it is?

It's funny that you mention that because my brother said the same thing about whatever this species is.

Great minds think alike, even if one of them is 5 and the other is 30. Clearly I spend way to much time with small children.

It could be a small Seapen.

Thanks for the help Hix. This is definitely a sea pen. After doing some research, the closest species I could find is the Ptilosarcus gurneyi. It looks like the one in the picture, and has a similar range to the other fish and invertebrates in the surrounding tanks. I could be wrong though.

It does look like a sea pen. It definitely is one funky looking thing.

I forgot to mention that if i'm right, this species English name is the Orange Sea Pen.
