at the beaver pond

Beaver pond was a busy place the other day. Both beavers were active and they had several visitors as well as a nosy neighbour. After a snack in the lodge the male went out to slide over the dam to the river side and see what his neighbour was doing, then the female came out to work on her teeth - yes they are orange.

Was the den lit for this shot? I have never been able to take a shot other then a black photo in there. If you have some tips for that I would love it.

This was a lucky combination of ambient daylight and artificial light being right, and I had the lens against the glass and my hand around the lens, standing to the side, all to reduce reflections. Still only a few were any good and none great. He was there for about ten minutes and moving around so lots of chances for different angles. Bright red from my coat kept showing up until I woke up and took it off!

I only knew them for M and F because both were out and the female is a little larger. Double-checked that with a keeper.

Those pics were arranged in order to tell a little story as in my note, with this one first, but unfortunately forgot to change the numbering.
