Tawny Frogmouth

Oh I wasnt saying it was horrible and needs to be redone. I like it too. And there are far too many other eye sores I would turn my attention to first. It just seems to be whenever an area of the zoo sees a dying out of animals (especially when whole species seem to go without replacement), that the zoo has a reno in mind for that area. Might even be something relatively minor like painting and repaving the path. It was just a question I had based on past behaviour.

I would like to see more species added. Given that theres the pond some new duck or geese species would be nice. And because the space is relatively lush with vegatation I would love to see more brightly coloured birds which will stand out. Bring back the lorikeets (dont put them outside) but bring them back. Bring in other parrots, cockatoos, ect. More could be added to bring colour and make the animals stand out. I remember when I was a kid and there was a fruit bat who always seemed to be filling his little face with fruit.

I agree Mr. Wrinkly they need to restore the kangroo walkthrough and sooner rather than later. Its one of the better ideas the zoo has had. Great way to make the guests feel close to the animals. Plus those kangaroos always seem to hang out far from the barrier so its better to be among them. It wouldnt take much to put in a new exit and redirect the path there. Even when the pandas go I kind of like the idea of keeping the barriers up because it gives you a clear visual break between animals from different continents like everywhere less at the zoo.

I doubt they can have all those free-flying birds in there - and who has time to keep switching them out.
Shouldn't these comments be on the forum, not the gallery?
