African Crested Porcupine

Wow a photo of the porcupine out of its cave! Never seen that before myself. They are really quite cute when you get to see them well.

This is the first good picture I have ever seen of this species at the Toronto Zoo. After meeting the porcupines up close for my Zookeeper for a Day, I made a goal to see them out of their cave at least once sometime this year. They can be very fun to watch when they're actually moving around.

Arcticwolf if you get to December and haven't succeeded in seeing them out of their cave you could always count Mr. Wrinkly's photo. Techinically you have seen them out of the cave now. I'm willing to accept the photo as the luckiest I'm likely to get but I have very low chances of success comepared to you.

That day they were chasing each other around their exhibit.

Such fun, especially because my friends were listening to the same old same old lion keeper talk and I turned around and saw the porcupine show.

Not only did you get to see them out of their cave but playing! We'll I guess you can cross that goal off your zoo bucket list. I have to say I'm a little jealous.
