Black-footed Ferret

This is the only time I have ever seen a decent picture of the zoo's black footed ferret that is on exhibit. The ferret exhibit is easily one of my least favourite exhibits at the zoo because it is pretty small for the animal living in it and it is way too dark to take pictures in.

Actually it is now fairly well-lit - I find that a problem.
The zoo breeds them off-site and I believe they don't have too much space there, so maybe it is enough.
Posted another pic. for you.

It's nice to know that the exhibit is now lighter. I know that the zoo breeds them off site, but based on what I've seen on the show Zoo Diaries, they have more space than the one on exhibit. I'm not a ferret expert though, so maybe the exhibit is a good size for it. Also thanks for posting the other picture!

The lighting probably changes over the course of the day. When I last went it was dark, although the ferret was sleeping.

Maybe the ferret has more space off exhibit to compensate for the small space on exhibit?

It probably has a little more space - it seems to me the opening at the back of the bottom part of the exhibit is open at least some of the time, not sure about that.
The most movement I have seen from it was the other day when it untucked it's head for a few moments. Still have not got a picture of the black foot.

What fun would your zoo trips be if you were able to achieve all of your goals in one trip right? Always nice to have lots of goals to achieve because it makes each trip different and fun.

The lower level opening into the back was open yesterday so it has a little more space. I've never seen it on it's feet.
