Now that I know Fred was put down this emu has to be Wilma. He was put down sometime in June. I dont know the reason why.
Because the exhibit's abandoned feel I just assumed that Fred was somewhere else hidden away by the flowers. I barely saw the kangaroos so I figured he was just well placed. Another good reason to cut the grass... so we can see whats in the exhibit.
This might be Wilma or it could be one of the two younger emus that hatched a couple of summers (Astro and Dino?). Fred had several health problems in the last couple of years (age-related) and lived off-exhibit during that time.
I was under the impression Astro and Dino left last summer and if I am remembering right it was from a really good source that I would 100% believe. But that being said Im not certain I heard it from that person and honestly things could have changed once I was told they were leaving.
