Aardvark Photograph

This picture was in a collage in the Panda Interpretive Centre. I thought it was interesting because I have never seen a photo of aardvarks when they were at the Toronto Zoo.

I havent see a photo of them at the zoo either. I didnt even know we had them until I learned it through the AZA last summer. I wish we would get them back.

I would also love for the zoo to have aardvarks again. I'm sure there would be space for an exhibit in either the African Pavilion or African Savanna.

I believe most zoos have them in nocturnal exhibits which would mean the only African option is actually the burrows. Its a waste of space as is so I would be cool with a reno that saw their addition.

I know the Detroit zoo keeps aardvarks outdoors in their savanna exhibit so the zoo could also do something like that.

I agree with you that the caves and burrows area could use a renovation. There's so much empty space that could be used for new animals. In addition to aardvarks, I would also love to see aye ayes and/or bushbabies.

I wouldnt be opposed to those additions. Aye ayes would be extremely hard to get with a small population but bushbabies would be easy. The zoo used to have them. I do want to keep the naked mole rats though.
