Snapping Turtle

The snappers in the beaver exhibit are both females, Glitter and Sparkle. No clue how to tell them apart. Im sure the zoos marked them in some way but their names is all I have.

I actually saw a third snapping turtle in the beaver exhibit today that looked larger than the other two.

Maybe they have added a male for breeding purposes or picked up a 3rd animal which couldnt be released. Its new to the exhibit because sometime in the last two weeks the zoo posted that photo of the snapper sleeping with the beavers and they only mentioned Glitter and Sparkle... its where I learned their names.

I'm pretty sure there have always been at least 3 snapping turtles. The two girls (I think they're girls) are the ones that go in the beaver den. The male is usually in the beaver pool, not connected to the den.

He left a few years ago - to either Jacksonville or St. Augustine (can't quite remember).

I will take your word on three turtles Cypher. I dont get to visit often enough to contradict you. Maybe the facebook post just dealt with the girls. Who knows. Point is there are three.
