Grevys Zebra

About a month ago both adult females looked pretty thick around the middle to me. Yesterday I remembered to ask a keeper, and found Tori is expecting, and Shani was but miscarried. They do expect Shani to get pregnant again, and I often see Jake trying to do his part.
There is a possibility of another adult F coming from Calgary and Jake and Luke being replaced by another M for breeding. An SSP decision is expected soon.

Thanks for the information. The zoo is doing a great job at breeding zebras. I would love to see more babies in the future, whether they're Jake's or another male's. Hopefully when the Centre for Species Reproduction is completed, there will be enough space for the zoo to have a large breeding herd of zebras.

Interesting they would be considering swapping Jake after just two... and if the baby is born 3 foals. They kept Shaka so long for many more foals. Though maybe the zoo plans on getting rid of Jake so they can keep Leia for breeding along with Tori, and the Calgary female. If plans are the same as last time the female would be Shelly Ann or Lori Anne (I cant remember which because they both have Anne in the name). She was to move before the flood. I would love to see three breeding mares. Maybe four if they are wrong about Shani.

The SSP is the determining factor. It seems they expect to follow the upcoming recommendation.

I misread what you wrote. Gotta love dyslexia. I thought I read they didn't think she will get pregnant again. Read it twice more just now and only caught my mistake on the third try. Sorry.
