Masai Giraffe

This is the first day the giraffes were on view in their second paddock. A few weeks ago a keeper said young Mstari was panicky the first day they tried it, when the zoo was not open.
The third paddock has been enclosed but that seems to be all, probably because they have no need of it yet.

This is another great space for them. I can see it housing a good sized herd of giraffes if we could just get more. Its clear the zoo definitely needs the mixed exhibit with elands and possibly more once that integration is done. It's a lot of good usable space. The exhibit seems so much larger with grass.

Shot of the second yard. Definitely can't wait to see more animals occupy it.

Yes, this was the second elephant yard, with a viewing deck. A second deck has been added for keeper talks and feeding.
In the back right corner is a gate to the third enclosed area.

I love how this yard look now. The makes it look a lot bigger, especially since the watering hole was removed as well.
