Any idea why it would have that bare patch on its back end?

I don't know the exact reason for this specific tarantula, but I learned that for defence some tarantulas flick the hairs on their back into the predator's face. Possibly this tarantula was defending itself from something and that's why it has a bare patch on its back.

Oh cool I didnt know that. A second theory that just came to me is that maybe keepers did it so they could identify this one from others.
