Im so glad the galah was added. Its a great splash of colour in the aviary. I would like to see another one added and maybe some other colourful Australian species of bird. The aviary would be so spectacular with more species and colour.
Today, I found out that this Galah is in its 30's, and grew up in a cage to small for it. As far as the Keepers now, it cannot fly because of its poor living conditions. They've never seen it take flight. Funny thing is that it has made its way from one end to the other end of the free flight area.
After such a rough start in life Im glad the Galah will get to live out the rest of its life pampered at the zoo. Now just to get him or her some company. Must be another unwanted Galah out there who could join it.
