Thanks for sharing these amazing pictures. I always find it hard to get a good photo of the jaguars because the glass has bad glare and I can never get a shot through the mesh.
 
It's really too bad more info wasn't available to the SSP about Luca and Zambucca's parents aren't known. If there was info available on them then they could be contributing to the species.

That being said knowing they came from Elmvale Jungle Zoo in 2005 (born 2004) and looking up the pair at the zoo it would appear Luca and Zambucca are the product of inbreeding. The male had been there since 1985 and his sister since 2001. They are full blooded siblings that came from Granby. There was also a pair of sisters that arrived in 1995 but no death dates, transfers or other info exists on them other than their arrival. It's possible they come from one of the sisters but I have no idea what happens to them after their arrival. Likely why Luca and Zambucca have no known parents.

I'd bet they are inbred which is why the zoo has never tried to clear things up so that they could have a breeding pair.
