The kudu girls

Left to right - Ruby, Rosalita and mom Ramosita. I couldn\'t tell if Ramosita is starting to look a little thick through the middle. Might be too early to tell. I do miss seeing Owen on display. Time for Rosalita and Ruby to go so the new female can come and Owen can come back on display.

I wish they added another species to this exhibit, because these 3 like to hide away in parts of the exhibit you can't really see. Most of the time the exhibit looks practically empty.

Oh its a huge exhibit for just the kudu, the hornbills, one vulture and one marabou. They could use a larger exhibit mate. That's really the problem with most of the savanna... large exhibits with only a handful of animals. They planned poorly and should have had even more barn space so there could either be more mixed exhibits or bigger herds. I get the sable are bad exhibit mates so get a bigger herd. I'm sorry but the ostrich exhibit is wasted on ostrich. Its so big for 3 birds. Mix them with the zebra, kudu or giraffes. The zebra exhibit is huge for four zebras. Again a species that can be a bit of a bully so if you don't want to mix them bring in more females. Don't get me started on the watusi again. At least they are trying to mix them with the equally unnecessary eland. And I know the zoo is shy about mixing anything with the rhinos but tons of other zoos do it successfully. Yet a big animal like the hippos has a small exhibit in comparison to most of the other species. Give me several million dollars and I will give you a redesigned savanna with even more species because I'm willing to mix and match and build big barns. The watusi barn is pathetically small. Why didn't they expand it so they could hold more of a mix in that massive exhibit?
