Last time I saw them down there was when Twiga was still alive. Since that part of the exhibit has been open, I've seen them down there 2 maybe 3 times.
I know I like the zoomobile simply for the drive through and to make it faster to get around but it is a total waste of money if you think it will let you see anything really. I think the zoo could easily have the zoomobile go on the public paths. Might have some slow downs but it would be far more interesting.
The biggest plus of using the zoomobile is getting to the Domain from the entrance quickly, and the Eurasia drive through. The Behind the scene might be interesting the first time, but not so much after that.
Personally, I'd rather the drive through section turn back into regular viewing exhibits that you walk through. With the amount of room in that area, the possibilities are truly astounding.
The behind the scenes would be way better if they positioned the quarantine and animal holdings in the right spot. That would make the health center so much more interesting to look at. Who is new? Who is back there? It would be a surprise on every visit.
I do wonder if a new stop will be added at the health center once its open. How will we be able to visit it? The zoomobile being the only way would be a great way for the zoo to go for a subtle cash grab. No new costs but more people will definitely opt for it. Paying for a tour would be a once sort of thing for me. I would see it and likely not bother again. But if its part of the zoomobile I would go all the time.
Very good idea, having the zoomobile pass through an area with animals. That would be a very clever way of possible introducing new animals, and educating people on the health care of the animals.
The only other reasonable way for the tours to work is that groups are taken from the America zoomobile stop, to the Health Center for the tours.
