did the sign actually say South Island Kaka? (I mean, on the large font at the very top where you can just see the word "KAKA"). It looks to me like they have the scientific name of their birds (i.e. the North Island Kaka), and then under that are noting that there is also a South Island subspecies. It is a little confusing the way they have arranged the sign.
