VC this looks like a species of Catopsilia, florella a wide ranging African migrant including China and India as well as the Canary islands. according to my old book the S American species are in the genus Phoebus.

While I wouldn't make a guess on the exact species, it sure does look like Phoebus sp, a genus not restricted to South America, but found widely in Central and North America too. The Mexican species are P. agarithe, P. argante, P. neocypris (easily excluded from the photo), P. philea and P. sennae.
