wow!!that is one good picture of a manakin!! I´ve seen tons of manakins but only of 2 species, but using a 300mm lens I haven´t been able to take such a close up...
How were you able to get so close? and how did you find it? was it just birding or was it playing soundtracks or how?
Sofar I've never used playing soundtrack and in fact it was my first manakin in the wild !
It was about 7 meter up in a tree at Agua Azul and because there are always many people at this tourist-attraction I guess it was not a wild as that they normal are.
