Yes, Africam safari can be compared to San Diego Wild animal park or Fossil Rim. This zoo is AZA approved and is one of the top 3 zoos in Mexico, along with Chapultepec and Guadalajara, but unlike those zoos Africam does not recieve public funds and is totally private. They have a very good breeding program for giraffes. The nearby Valsequillo dam appears in the background.
That is a beautiful setting. Looks like it was taken in the wild on the shores of Lake... ...well some lake in East Africa. I have never been to the African continent, so I cannot say what lake it really looks like.
Thank you, AD. This was actually the last photo i took on my weekend visit to Africam. I was waiting for some tasty enchiladas at the restaurant, stepped on to the terrace and saw the giraffes gathering in the distance. Africam safari has bred many of the giraffes that are in mexican zoos.
