The Roost, Wellington Zoo, 10/3/2011
The first part of the 'Meet the Locals' development to open. Aviaries on the right, and on the left corner of the building, with brooding room, incubation room, and kitchen next to that. The building itself is not actually open to the public. The fence on the right is the last remnant of the old porcupine enclosure, with the windows still in it. According to the plans, the area between the roost and where this photo was taken will become a Kea walk-through aviary, and it appears the aviaries on the right will become off-show.
