There are 23 california condors living in Reserva San Pedro Martir in Baja California
. The first 3 pairs came from the San Diego zoo in 1987. Other zoos that have sent condors to Baja California were Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. Now Chapultepec zoo will send another pair. This a great example of conservation work by zoos and also an example of international cooperation in conservation.
