It's a reticulated python. "Tiger" is the specific type of morph.

Python reticulatus = Reticulated python
Python molurus = Tiger python
The enclosure on the picture houses Python molurus.

I think he is right it looks to me like some colour morph of reticulated python...

Actually mate, I think you're kind of wrong. I'm not going to try look all lofty by giving the latin names and all that, but it is a retic.

I don't think it is lofty using the latin name. If anything, it cuts down on all the confusion. It is indeed Malayopython reticulatus.

I agree, it's not lofty using latin at all….but from the tone of his reply, it felt that he was using it in a way to try and seem superior.

Didn't want to offened you and I'm surtainly not superior. Just didn't know about the existance of a Tiger-morph of the Reticulated python !

Definitely a Retic.

I've never heard of P. molurus being called a Tiger Python; I've only ever heard it called Indian Python, or Indian Rock Python (and P.m.bivittatus = Burmese Python).

@Hix, the dutch name for P. molurus is tijgerpython (so tiger python if you translate it literally), that's where the confusion will come from
