devilfish 24 Oct 2010 I think this is a subspecies of Geoffroy's spider monkey, probably Ateles geoffroyi vellerosus.
C C carlos77 26 Oct 2010 devilfish is correct. Many mexican zoos have breeding groups of this species of spider monkey, but to my knowledge only ZOOMAT in the southern state of Chiapas has sucessfully reintroduced spider monkeys to a natural reserve.
