Estimado david, yes tamandua mexicana can still be found in various protected areas in southern mexico. Tamanduas are difficult to keep in capitivity and in Mexico only zoomat in Chiapas has been able to breed tamandua mexicana. The tamanduas at guadalajara zoo came from zoomat. In the wild tamanduas are almost imposible to see, but i have found tamandua mexicana to be active in the mornings at the zoos where i have photographed them.
